Clicker Training

I think clicker training is the best way to train an animal to do what you need it to do. You could use clicker training as a helpful tool in the Veterinary field in allot of ways. Just having the animal know basic commands with the clicker could really be a big help to the pet owner and also the vet during visits. You could have the pet know how to sit, lay down, roll onto one side, and you could even clicker train your pet to get up onto the table, that way you wouldn't have to lift a big pet dog or other large animal onto the exam table.

Clicker training not only works on small domestic animals but could be used on any tipe of animal from farm to house to zoo even to marine life. Trainers and keepers at zoos use clicker training to train or prepare there animals for vet checks like we seen on the movie from yesterday with the lion and giraffe, but remember those are only a couple out of the hundreds of animals that could be trained there at the zoo. You could also train farm animals like horses, cows, or even pigs. Pigs are actually really smart and would adapted really well to the clicker. You could even train marine animals with a clicker, like dolphins.

How I'm doing in class....

I think I'm doing well in this class. I fill like I learn something new everyday. I really like it when we have demos in class, like watching Mrs. Lefeure do wing and nail trims. I do think I need to practice my Medical Terminology more because I do not quit know all of them, yet.

I am doing great working with the animals. I really like cleaning the animal cages and doing their daily. I also, like wighting and feeding them. I also am good at geting along with everyone in class. I try to be nice to everyone even if I don't like someone or i find them annoying. I choose the attitude I want to have in class and that is a positve one.

I think I need to work on interacting more with the class. I want to try to participate in class discussions more because I fill like I'm just sitting there doing nothing when we are talking as a class and I am not saying anything. I think if I say something I'm thinking I won't answer the question right or evryine will look at me weird or something. I do try to answer all the questions you ask me directly even if I don't know what I'm talking about or i don't know the answer to the question.

I think because I am good working with the animals I could help someone that isn't so good with them. I know Suzy helps me alot in class. If I don't know how to do something I can just ask her and she tells me what I need to do. I also, like to be a leader an tell others what needs to be done and what we need to do to get it done. I'm not sure if I am like that in class but I know I am like that in other classes, like my cooking class. It's not that I am pushy or bossey, I just want to get stuff done and leading just comes naturaly to me, if I know what needs to be done.

Kitten Observations

Over the past couple of weeks i have noticed a big diffrance in the kittens.
When they first got here they explored a little but, didn't realy get a chance because everyone was holding them. Now that they have been here for a few weeks you can realy see that they have become more actave and are not afraid to try new things.
I have also noticed now that they are older they don't realy like to be held and would rather be on the floor and running around. You can see when they play that Sissy is the more domenet one of the three. She likes to beat up on the boys and she also is the more adventerase one. Also, when the kittens play alot of the time Leo gets left out or is off doing his own thing.
Speaking of Leo he appers to have grown less than the other two so he is defenatly the smallest.
I think Sparky is the biggest but he still lets his sisster beat up on him.
Also, the kittens have a realy strong purr and they like to be in your face when you are holding them. They also like to climb all over you and don't realy care if there butts are in your face.
Some stuff they do is stuff they would do naturaly in the wild and you can see that in there play. When they stouke eachother or pounce on eachother that is all stuff they would naturaly do. And climbing they would do if they had to climb a tree or a house, depending on where they live.
I am realy going to miss Sparky and Leo, but I am glad they will be going to good homes.
